I found this frame courtesy of Wayne at Velo Classique, and my wife who spotted it. Although I didn’t need another road bike, this one looked to be special.

The frame had never been mounted. It was my size. A few Suntour Superb Pro components later, and it turned out to be a keeper.

R&E cycles has been around for years, and this is an example of really cool 80s race-bike construction. Bi-laminate lugs, hidden seatpost binder, and barely enough room for 25s. Handles quick.

  • Superbe Pro 7 speed grouppo, comlete with seatpost
  • 28h NOS Superbe Pro hubs, laced to DT Swiss RR440 rims, Revolution spokes, aluminum nipples. 2x fron 3x rear.
  • Selle Italia Flite NOS
  • Nitto Noodle handlebars
  • Brooks handlebar tape
  • IRD cassette

This one is a keeper. What do you think?
